Data handling and storage

• Candidate and job content is stored locally on your computer.
• We intentionally do not collect or store candidate screening content on our servers.
• Purchases and license management are handled by Polar on Polar-hosted pages.
• The Pro license key is stored in the macOS Keychain. Non-secret licensing status is stored locally on your computer.

OpenAI dependency and third party processing

AI-powered features in CandidTalentEdge require an OpenAI API key. When you use those features, the app sends job and hiring details, and candidate materials you provide to OpenAI for processing as described below, and receives results back.

• PDF cover-letter OCR: if a PDF cover letter does not contain enough locally extractable text, its pages may be sent to OpenAI Vision for OCR. Cover-letter text is not included in the AI parsing or evaluation prompts.
• Parsing: the resume text you provide, including any contact details it contains, is sent to OpenAI to extract a structured resume.
• Evaluation: AI evaluation runs on a PII-stripped version of the parsed resume. Contact and identity fields (such as name, email, phone, address, profile links, and location) are removed, and the candidate's own name is removed from free-text fields on a best-effort basis. If PII stripping fails, the evaluation is skipped.

Education and school information is not treated as PII and is retained during parsing and evaluation.
